CONSTRUCTION

The pack uses official BSA Space Derby Kits. The pack also follows specific event rules for its races. Generally, the kits are dispersed by den leaders a month or so before the races. Kits for siblings, family members, and friends are available for purchase from the pack for $4 per kit.

CHECK IN

The pack holds a check in the day of the races at which racers' fully constructed rockets are inspected to be sure each rocket meets the specific event rules for the races. Any necessary final adjustments (such as propellar alignment) are made at the check in. If you cannot attend the check-in and you want to race, please contact the pack's space derby chairperson.

RACES

Each rocket will run several heats. Race results are compiled within each rank, the pack, and the open class (for parents, siblings, family members, and friends).

The pack will not be conducting a space derby during the 2009-2010 school year. The pack's leaders are working on a space derby format that is conducive to the number of scouts in our pack.
